Program Information
Aha Communications is on a mission to rid our streets of unsightly litter which is why
we've started Purty up Austin. Austin's growing litter problem is sad and embarrassing
and we're harnessing some good ol' fashioned elbow grease to purty up our town.
We will tackle this problem one street at a time and we invite and even challenge
all Austin businesses to join us. We realize that pitching in to pick up litter may
seem like old hat but our program is unique. It's designed specifically to give Austin
area businesses a chance to do something good and to be recognized for their efforts.
Every Austin company or organization that pitches in to clean up a street will be
acknowledged with a customized campaign sign that will temporarily mark the site of
the clean-up effort.
The process is simple:
- Select a street or roadway that is an unsightly mess. This won't be difficult to
do but if you need suggestions we've compiled a list of the streets that are in
desperate need of some TLC (trash and litter collection). Click here to
view our list and, please, if you see a litter infested roadway in need of attention
let us know by sending us an email with the location.
- Recruit a group of folks (coworkers, family and friends) who don't like
to see trash and litter junking up our community.

Schedule your event and get after it. It may be trashy, but its fun and you'll feel so good when it's done.

We need to know the who, when and where for your Purty Up Austin effort so that we can properly acknowledge your effort and keep track of all the litter we'll be picking up.
- Gather your gear – trash bags, gloves, rakes, and sticks – and get after it. Be safe and have fun. Smile. Take pictures.
- Dispose of the trash you collect. Use your company dumpster or some other legal disposal site.
- Let us know how you did. Please tell us how many bags of trash you collected so that we can record your effort and be sure to send us photos from your clean up day. We will produce a sign to acknowledge your great effort which will be placed at your clean up site. We want everyone to know just how terrific you are.
